About the UofO

The University of Orange is a free, people's university.  The history of the city is our textbook and civic participation is our coursework.  The story of Orange is the story of many American cities: settled by Indians, sold to Europeans in 1666, developed into a center of manufacturing after the Civil War, deindustrialized after World War II, split by a highway, and kept alive by citizens trained to struggle for responsive government.

Everyone can be a student and everyone can be a teacher.  We are creating this wiki to collect the history, ecology, events and hopes of the city.  Share what you know and learn from others.

School opens June 2008 and we will hold our first graduation in June 2009.  We do accept your life credits and the knowledge you've gained from hard knocks.  Your diploma from the University of Orange will show that you care about making the world a better place.

Sign up -- it's free.  Together we can make it better!
